Hey guys, thought I'd introduce myself since i am drooling on a lot of your rides. My name is Scott Fischer. I am a professional illustrator who does everything form Sci-fi novel covers to children's books. I have a love for cars too. And in my spare time like to draw them. I am a datsun fan and a moderator over at www.ratsun.net so as you can imagine, most of my car art is in that realm! But at ratsun we love um rusty and in primer and usually have a pretty old skool flavor happening. I have a much bigger stack of Ol Skool Rodz than I do Minitruckin. And the ol skool influence is all over the imports I draw. I see a few of my Ratsun peeps are a**** your members too, hey guys! So here's some art! And if y'all want to check out my site, it is www.fischart.com
You are an artist. Welcome. Got any pictures of a Ford, Dodge, Chevy, Chrysler, Desoto, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Buick, Pontiac, Cadillac, Packard, Nash, AMC, Hudson, Willys, Studebaker, Kaiser, Henry J, Frazer, Crosley, or any other Old American Iron? Lucky667
hey and welcome! i'm afraid our love of the Datsun isn't a friendly subject here but be sure to post in the friday art shows. off topic or not, talent like yours is always welcome there. oh yeah, dont call anything here the "rat" word
Thanks for the welcome guys! I know a lot of folks are not into the import thing, no matter how old. I totally get that. Everyone should march to their own drummer. But when I read in the intro post sticky that foriegn was welcome, I thought I'd give it a shot. Though rereading it now I think y'all meant people and not cars. Whoops! But I've seen a few Import discussions here! Fiat, Toyopet, the legendary Datrod. I find what y'all do here really inspirational, and am kind of the 'take what you got and make what you want' sort of guy. Here's the dash in my Datsun 521. My first attempt pinstriping. Used a 1940's br*** bell for the flying eyeball. The Gas tank. i like the unusual, and I guess one of my dream rods would be this ford 103E UTE. Someday... Hopefully i will find the time to do some more traditional art for y'all to check out. I freaking LOVE what John Larter's been doing in Ol Skool Rodz! Crazy mad skills! Scott
