Hey, just went through a 7 page thread with awesome pics of 53-54 chevys. i only saw one 4 door. a guy can pick up a nice 4 door for 1000-2000 as compared to the same condition 2 door at 4000-6000. There has got to be some bad a-- 4 doors out there. I am considering a sweet 4 door right now but would love to see some you guys have done!!
just keep looking for a 2 door, it will better in the long run... i only say that from experience.. here is what my 4 door has gone through.... when i first told my friend that i wanted to chop it he said " sell that piece of **** and get a 2 door" i should have.. maybe i would have been alot further on it by now..
Your friend may have been right when it comes to your time and or money, but you have done an awesome job on that car!
Omar, Whats your rear window out of? my 53 4door - 2door conversion has a similar chop but the rear window is a little narrower my doors were stretched using parts of the rear doors and suicided. as we dont have coupe doors just laying round over here. great job.
cool, ill just label mine miscelaneous as its couldnt possibly be a merc rear window in mine its hard enough to obtain a whole merc here as it is. sorry to jack the thread, on with the chevy's...
FWIW, i paid $1k for my 2 door club coupe, and unless it has been fixed up before, they all have rust in the same places. 2 door patch parts are plentiful. Unless you WANT a four door, keep looking.
a friend of mine found me the back window and he found me a junked 53 pontiac coupe which the doors came off of... i got lucky.. parts like those are hard to find... thats why it would be easier for fuzzyktu to get a 2 door
4 doors make great drivers. As you note, cheap and not all that hard to find. If you are looking for pics of customized ones, I agree, save your money and buy a 2 door.
nothing wrong with 4 doors in my book. different is cool and if you're on a budget, that could make it seem even "cooler"
