I pinned this one down today. It's not traditional unless you count 70's builds as traditional LOL. Neat old car though. Had a nice frame with 67 Vette independent rear, Bell drop axle, 4 wheels disc brakes, Buick V-6, tilt, cruise, rumble seat, stereo with headphones in the rumble seat, etc. It also has air ride in the rear that allows you to raise the rear from inside the car when you put p***engers in the rumble seat. Paint is showing its age but the car has a great overall feel to it. Body is all steel but the rumble lid. It's just a reliable good running, nice driving cruiser. Has a new top and carpet. It also comes with a 4" chop windshield kit but you can't use it with the top of course. Things I already know.... Interior needs updating but it is really comfortable. Wire wheels have GOT to go. I'd love to loose the side mounts if it could be done cheaper than a grand. Not crazy about the beer bottle brown. NEEDS WHEELS!! So what would YOU slap on it wheel wise??? Plans for now? Just clean it and drive it
Hey, make fun of it all you like since I'm not responsible for any of that fine handi work. But I'm more a of a full fendered guy since reading all of those hotrod mags with those full fendered "A"s from the 60's with the wide whites and tuck and roll.
Don't get rid of those truespokes. Mark my words, in 10 years when 70's builds are the rage, you will wish you had them back. I'm not kidding. If it was mine, I'd just get a non-welled fender, paint it to match, and drive it like it is.
lose the spares , get it down a little in front, and put cream colored steel wheels with caps and rings. drive the hell out of it.
I would leave it alone and drive it for a month or two, after that you'll know exactly what you want to redo or take off or whatever . But like others have said Keep all the old stuff, stick it up in the barn and forget about it. You never know what the future Holds ................. Would you mind telling us(you can pm me if you rather) around about how much you had to give for it? IF thats to personal I will understand.
BINGO! lose the spare and drive the heck out of it. The car is perfect as is and the wires, man leave 'em alone. Tim
No, I don't care. Some people freak out if you ask them this question like you've asked for their bank account information. It was $15,000. It may be too high for some people and a bargain for others but theprice was just right for me.
dont matter what you payed for it. i think its cool and i aint a fan of brown paint. wires look ok but cream solids with caps n rings would be awesome. lose the spares. my only real dislike is the steering wheel n colum. great car.
A new steering wheel is already in the works. Problem is it has two different bolt patterns so finding solids may be a problem unless I order new.
Good start...isn't that one of those 29 repops that had the small engine and was on ,I think,a pinto frame... I would lose the fenders,or sell them to a "teaker"...get her low and drive the **** out of it. good luck and more pics as ya go on. Mench
I know this may sound sick, but I like it just the way that it is. A little piecr of hot rod history that you can drive. I promise you that when you drive it down the street it will get the same looks with the wire wheels or with something else. EXTRA COOL and I even like the beer bottle brown color.
I like it as is too. There are not too many of those '70's resto rod's left. Lots of '80's **** but not many true '70's cars. That said, I'd have to drive the pee water out of it till I found the fenders and wheels I wanted etc...but, I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry. Bottom line is it's yours do what you want with it but you may regret it someday.
As noted, drive it for a while until you really know what you want to do. Right now, it's a little different than most so I wouldn't be in too big a hurry to change things....
What kind of wheels are under the covers? I kinda like the spares and the whole car is fine with me. Nice ride.
Very nice! Steel fenders and boards? I believe that redoing rides like these will be the "flat black" of the future.
