Dose any one know about the Lincoln Y blocks 314 thru 368 series 54 thru 57 or 58. I am thinking about putting one in my 36 Ford roadster will Y block Ford tri power bolt on.What will fit & what wont Danny.
No, a 292-312 intake will not fit a LYB The Lincoln Y block is a much larger and longer engine and has totally different intake port arrangements the the 292-312 does. Intakes for the LYB are very hard to come up with and very expensive when they do show up. As far as I know no one made a 3x2 for them several companys made 2x4 Intakes, and a few other odd designs. Tom
Tom thank you for the info can you tell me any thing else about the Lincoln motor is it worth while to put in my roadster thanks Danny.
Hi Danny, Well I kind of like them, ok maybe more than like them. If your a guy that likes to really play around there cool as hell. If you just want to buy everything bolt on off a shelf there not the thing to play with You have to want a LYB to be willing to rework or fabricate things to make where it needs to be. I have a monster LYB I'm building for my 49 Ford Coupe right now. I am putting my 341 together this afternoon, I think it is a VERY COOL engine.. You should know that it is one heavy SOB... but it is still way cool, and imo ahead of it's time and overall a very simple and clean engine. I will see about posting up a pic or two on this thread this evening. "EDIT - Still cant find my card reader for pics, But I did weigh the engine, on the skid sitting on a semi tire it weighed 820 lbs, I figure about a 100 to 130 lbs for the tire and skid, so the lincoln engine is LIGHTER than I expected at about 700 lbs... with one exhaust manifold in place, no flex/fly wheel...
