Awesome find! my uncle sold a 1919 Chevy a couple years ago back to the original dealership and he regrets it all the time..

Agreed, that one is a keeper just the way it is. It would be fun to wheel into an all Chevy or all GM show with it and it's history.

Dont think I would do any thing to it other than a nice Sunday cruise to the DQ

  6. I wouldn't mess with it, but only because some of those really early engines are just plain fascinating to watch run, it's amazing how primitive they can be compared to even say, '50's cars. And yet they did the job they were supposed to do, in a time when a lot of roads would be impossible for a modern SUV to traverse.

r8odecay wanted to see some photos of the engine...

It is a running piece of art. all kinds of things moving an shaking. it just sits and chugs... neat as hell. It is so primitive it looks like it there is no way it would run but man it does... and it really runs pretty smooth.

check out some of neat things the car has for 1920... the door handles and the little chrome piece next to it is the door lock, the keys for the car are like small little old time house keys... and the radiator cap is way cool, the eagles head flips back and lets the motometer flip back so you can fill the radiator. check out the intake, that baby has some draw now. the open push rods and valves are so wild... the springs sit in little valleys that you keep a small amount of oil in. no valve cover... what the heck keep the dirt out of the engine? The generator has the oil pump on the front and the distributor on the rear.... it's just really a modern marvel of technology in the early days of the automotive boom!

thanks for all the feedback... it's just a little exciting, getting the chance to own something this old and I guess rare... with such a neat story.

here are a few more photos.

    thanks Randy ModelAMac

Well, we have listed the car on ebay.

we've decided since it is such a nice early chevy, and that the story/history makes it too interesting or important for us to keep. (our garages are much too messy LOL.)

the car should go to someone who will truly appreciate it and display it properly.

I know that since I've been in the car hobby nothing is more aggravating than someone who has a car they don't appreciate or won't do anything with...
we don't want to be that guy.

I've added more photos and a more detailed story behind the car to the ebay sale that is not posted here...

check it out... I'm not asking you to bid, I'm just asking you to look and read.

thanks for all of your help and support on the car.

    don't worry I'm still a Chevrolet man..
I will have my 1933 Master Eagle Coupe and my wifes 1962 Corvair Wagon for a long, long time. We enjoy them almost daily.

    thanks Randy. <!--POLLS--> <!--FILES--> <!--SIGNATURE-->
