1949 CHASSIS Comparison

1949 Lincoln/1949 Mercury

I’ve been thinking of buying a Jamco Suspension kit for my car. Since I have a 49’ Lincoln, anything aftermarket is hard to find. I rather ask, before I purchase anything. Are these chassis similar? Will I be good to go, if I end up buying anything related to a 49’ mercury?

no--the frames are different, the lincoln frames are longer.

they share some of the same front suspension parts, but I am not 100% sure that everything bolts up.

Yes the frame and front wrap is longer, but I think they still had all big Ford car details underneath. Plus its a Ford product; They didn't change***** like till 25 yrs. later.

Oh . just for anyone else who reads this post, the dashboards are diff. too.

 

you ive heard of some guys puttin lincoln or mercury bodies on 78-84 GM chassis... dont know if this will apply to though
