chrome trim on door panels

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by militarymonark, Apr 16, 2009.

  1. I have a 61 galaxie and Im restoring the door panels and Im wanting to replace the chrome trim. One of the pieces looks like its an adhesive chrome tape. Its the piece right above the arm rest and window crank. Where would I find something like that. [IMG]

Sign shops can sell you pieces of the chrome-like vinyl. For what it is and what it does,it ain't chrome, but not too bad.
Check into it and good luck with your project!

Call SMS Auto Fabrics, Canby, OR 503-263-3535

They did a great job of making door panels for my 61 Starliner.

Also, Lebaron Bonner purchased ABC Auto Upholstery of Phila, PA

ABC had some original chrome tape and also had repro tape.

The problem is the door panels are made with heat and a press. SMA purchased the original press process from Ford.

  8. could you post a picture of your door panels?

  9. also how much did they cost you?
