I am going to drop the rear on my 56 poncho and need to get some info. What do I need to successfully drop the back? Can I use lowering blocks for a 55-56-57 Chevy? This is my 1st venture into the suspension on something pre 60 so I don't want to f it up.

3" blocks should be fine. Trust me, don't go more than that. Also stay away from the cast aluminum blocks. Fellow club member did 3" steel blocks on his 56 Olds and looks right and doesn't "f it up". Good luck and post fore and aft pics!

read here 1st, and try to ignore some of the ******** "too low" debate: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=262884&showall=1

Pics are gone... the basic idea of what we did for the tunnel is in my album. If you want any other pics of what I did, just let me know.

Oh, and I just used your regular 3" aluminum blocks. Nothing fancy.

Do a search for loudpedal's tech on jig to de-arch the springs ... while you're under there, check the brake hose, pinion seal, brake shoes, etc ...
