What size does it say on the side? Doesn't look that old to me.

 

That looks similar to the tires on the mid 60's Chrysler turbine cars.
A search on these cars should show the tires.

Looks like a 'Golden-T' I used to sell at TG&Y.

 

Those are heat vents said to prevent heat generated blowouts and increase life of tire.

Ha! I haven't heard anyone speak of TG&Y in years! I used to go with my grandmother when I was a kid...

 

So..... You have had pleanty of time to finish the story.... What did you do with the tire?
