Hamb'er down in austin

    yblock 292 is down and out in austin drove my 50 shoe with 56 265 lost generator when we got here need a 56 chevy generator bad to make it back to kansas, will be at the round up got a new battery just to get it to the hotel springhill suites, cell is 316 680 6229 got the local advance auto looking but not much luck

  3. I would also look for an electrical shop that could rebuild the one you have. Call Lux at Crushproof, he will know what to do.

    Worst case toss a one wire in there if its 12V.

    You can drive all the way home on the battery IF you don't use your headlights...disconnect the gen and voltage reg...put in the new battery and head home...

    I drove all the way from Des Moines, Iowa to Denver, ColoRODo on one battery when my '57 Chev gen took a crap at a GG's event...it's not impossible...!!! It got an alternator after that one...

    I would say that you could make it back to kansas if you have somone in the group that has a charging system. You could switch the battery out with a charged one.

    I made the trek to the Hamb drags from Omaha with no charging system. It also started at every gas stop on the way. We weren't gonna miss the drag for anything.

    I wish that I could help with something more that a little moral support. Good luck Paul.

    got one coming to the roundup today, power of the hamb!thanks for all the help had lots of calls , traveling with fudpucker, bought a new battery yesterday but should be good to go
