May God Be with you at this time ! This seems to be one of the jobs we are stuck with, burying our parents, it is never easy. I trust your mother knew the Load as her personal "Lord and Saviour". I will be praying for you and your family. If you don't know the Lord as YOUR Saviour, I trust you will rethink your position in life. Each breath in your lungs and each beat of your heart are blessing from only one person, Jesus Christ. God Bless you my Hot Rod BROTHER....
My condolences to you and your family. Thank you for the information on how the vascular aspect progressed. I have something new to relate to my students next time they roll into class five minutes late...reeking of smoke.
God bless you and your family. I had my very last cigarette last September, right before I ended up in the hospital with blood clots and pulmonary embolisms. If someone reading this is still smoking and using the excuse, "It's too hard to quit completely, I'll just cut back", BULL! That was always my lame excuse. I got lucky, I only nearly died. I will never smoke again, but it may be too late for me too...oh yeah, I started when I was 12, Camel straights and Lucky Strikes. I am so sorry your mom passed that way friend, you will be in my thoughts and prayers today. Take comfort in knowing that her pain is past her now, as crummy as that may be for you.
My condolences for your loss. Rusty Springs has it right and it's never too late to makethat commitment. Frank
Im very sorry for you and your familys loss. I lost both of my grandmothers to smoking I feel for you.
Losing a family member has to be the worst eent a person can go through. Our thoughts are with you, keep the faith.
So sorry to hear that Dude, I know how you feel, I lost both Mom & Dad within 3 months 12 years ago, the hurt never goes away, but the memories live forever. BB
I am truly sorry, I have lost a loved one secondary to the affects of cigarette (tobacco) use as well. It is a life threatening habit which begins in vanity, as no one enjoys their first smoke. They do it to look cool, or fit in... No one forces them to start, however BIG TOBACCO Co. forces their to return business by selling them a legally addictive product. Support huge tobacco taxes! Make people hate cigarettes and "Big Tobacco" corporations as well as their subsidiaries. example: The Phillip Morris Tobacco corporation also known as Altria Group (same exact corporation), owns Kraft foods, which in 2007 made a net income of $2.590 billion with a 7.0% profit margin. Kraft food products, second biggest in the world, first in the U.S. is owned by a corporation (Philip Morris) that profits by selling people death, and in 2007 made $9.786 billion dollars in doing so... God bless your mother, perhaps she and my father in-law are looking down at us now and saying, damn that HA.M.B. is pretty cool, I wish they would have had that shit when I was a kid. Just as a side note when he was a kid my father in-law had a 49-Merc. with a LaSalle transmission, and a big old "Shalaylee" shift arm. He was cool old dude...
i'm sorry to hear abut your loss,,, losing a parent before their time is really hard,,, sending HUGS your way,,, xoxox miss hootch
By the grace of God, I quit smoking 21 years ago this coming June but I smoked for 30 years before God delivered me from that terrible addiction. I pray for anyone who wants to quit....I do know it can be done, at the time I quit, I was smoking over 3 packs a day. Many friends and family members have passed in my lifetime due to smoking and many more are currently on the list to go, its just terrible. I am praying for you and your family...
Very sorry for your loss and my condolences to you and your family. We lost our Mom in January and know your pain. Our prayers are with you and yours.
I lost a very good friend last year due to the smoking too, i begged him to quit for years, a lot of people did, then they found that spot on his lung, and it spread like wildfire, he didn't even make it to 60,but he looked like he was eighty, dragged down and turned into a skeleton with an oxygen tank. he left behind a 14 year old son. Yes please tell every kid you see to please not smoke,my step daughter does, and my step son do, they are of adult age, and they can't see the logic in quitting. sorry about your mom. .
Purple - Sorry to hear that. Maybe this thread will reach the right person and something good can come of it? My mom and my best friend both died of smoking within a year of each other. I finally quit the year after that happened. That's what it took for me to finally take that leap of faith and commit, 2 1/2 years ago. It's not easy: yesterday I had one! Addiction is cunning, baffling and powerful...
Even when you know it's coming,it still sucks. The older you get the smarter your mom was. Sorry man.
Dang it purp. You been on here long as me, like a HAMB bro of sorts. My heart goes out to you and your family right now.
Sorry to hear about your Mom, you, and your family will be in our prayers. I smoked for 29 years ended up at 3 packs a day. I tried everything for years to quit but it's a hard thing to do. I've been a non-smoker now for 17 years, the Dr. that did my second back surgery said my lungs looked like road tar. I had a tubes hooked up and I could see the black tar coming out. My last cigarette was the night before surgery. I said I would try it one day at a time. Without a doubt that was the best thing I have ever done for myself. For the people who want to quit you can do it but there is no easy way to quite. My dad, and two of my brothers died from smoking. The ones I smoked with tax now are $50 a carton, red/white box.
