I'm getting ready to order tie rod and drag link parts from Speedway for My 37 Chevy project. In there catalog it says the tie rod ends have a 7 degree taper not normally used with Chevy spindles. Can anyone tell Me why? Do Chevy steering arms use a different taper? How about Vega pitman arm?

  2. I know that Ford used a 7 degree taper in there tie rod ,ect. Not sure about Chevy. On my 50 Chevy I used Ford tie rod ends on the drag link I made up for it. I had to have my pitman arm and center link reamed to 7 degrees. Most any machine shop should be able to do this for you. A 7 degrre reamer was more than having someone do the job for me. Todd
