    I posted these two photos:

    003.jpg

    004.jpg

... in my "Help ID the '32 Fords in these B&W Pics" thread (just click HERE) ... Not sure if they were taken by my father ... or by Gary Meadors ... but it's obvious that they are from the same set of pics that KIRK! posted in the OP.

You've got that right, Darryl. Blows me away. And the last one, "That's my dad" with the response "You want that one?" Too cool.

I also have seen this collection and couldnot believe what I was seeing. As I was told these cars were put together with NOS parts. The rows of nos left and front and rear fenders frames axels every nut and bolt to put these buties together. The front roon had displays of the rarest of ford parts. It was a night I will never forget.

My copy of that Rod Action Mag is less than pristine. Over the years, i've thumbed through that feature many times (and perhaps drooled too). Yes, I have a bit of a '32 Ford problem too.

Cool thread.... with a happy ending.

The same or very similar pics and article appeared about the same time in another mag..."Old Cars ???" is maybe part of ***le, magazine was related to Neal East (who stuck deuce stuff into nearly every issue) and Tex Smith...may have been same publishing company as RA.
The whole spread was jaw dropping...not just all the models of cars in a row, not just a row of extra complete ch***is, but on top of that a row of extra engines, a zillion spare fenders, cases of the rarest bits like distributors...all in photos too grainy in the magazine for a magnifying gl*** to do much.
By the way, THAT magazine named the owner as Theodore Ther***o or some such... read that out loud!

WOW! I was lucky to have toured Mr. Seacrests collection with our 32 Ford club back in the 70s, What a collection, the cars were really nice but I was blown away by the extensive NOS parts inventory for 32s he had stacked everywhere. Once in a lifetime experience.

Like Deuce Roadster said some investors headed by the late Don Thelan bought most of the collection and hauled it to Ca. Most of the parts went quickly but there was some of the stuff that showed up at the LARS form time to time.

The William Seacrest collection was the pinnacle of 32 Ford collectors' dreams.
At least one of every 32 P***enger, COmmercial and Truck body style, plus a cutaway 32 Tudor, plus a cutaway Ford display ch***is, plus NOS parts by the ton, literature, sales and dealer information. If it was connected to the 32 Ford, he had it, and often in boxes full.

Some things cannot be duplicated and the Seacrest Collection is one of those things.

Thanks for posting those scans Hemi32! What a great read. Its too bad the collection couldn't have stayed together, that would be amazing to see today.

Thanks HEMI. You know, it really should be against the law for one person to have THAT much '32 stuff:D.

@Bruce Lancaster ... your memory never ceases to amaze me!

It was over 32 years ago (& I was just a wee lad) ... but I'm about 95% sure that when my father & Gary wrote the 'Deuce Heaven' article (posted above), they came up with the fic***ious name "Theodore Ther***o" to protect Mr. Secrest's iden***y.

It's a shame that that collection got split up, but who needs that many '32's anyway?

Here's some pics of Bob Regehr's current collection of '32 stuff, and alot of other stuff too. If I remember right he has 1 of every '32 body style ever made. Most of them he has multiples. He has 2- B-400's, they were export cars and were sold to the Argentinian Government. He bought them both. Those wooden crates are factory Ford crates with NOS '32 front fenders in them. He has tons of NOS '32 parts.

All of this stuff is for sale too.

    Later,

I had that issue too, but if you read it carefully it reveals one interesting point,Mr Seacrest only started collecting his '32's in 1966!

I was well into cars in NZ at that time so I knew most old Ford dealers still had plenty of Ford A and V8 parts in stock, which means the USA with it's vastly bigger market must have been ripe for picking by an astute collector.
