Dan Stoner is a good guy i went to high school with Dan in Dover,Pa and we have been talking back and fourth in emails in the last couple months he just sent me like 12 Garage Magazines and other stuff from San Fran. about 3 weeks ago.

  2. Amen, Bro! I was ****ed out of my hard earned $20. Never had a new issue show up in my mailbox yet. Should of applied the $ towards a Rodder's Journal sub.

Wow, "remote control management." Sorry to hear that. I think we should all wish Dan and Brian the best of luck wherever they land.

I live near Jesse's shop, so I guess I'll be getting my issue through the time-honored method of single-copy sales. (I learned my lesson about subscriptions the first time Hop Up came back.)

You guys should definitely buy an extra copy of this mag to have encased in Lucite; something tells me we might not see another issue for a long, long time. This could be the collector's edition.

Actually I have benefitted greatly from anger management. Notice they don't call it "anger elimination". Key difference is now my anger is focused with laser-like precision.

Back to the original subject. Don't buy subscriptions and don't encourage the business practice paying for shelf copies. Borrow one from a paid-up-****er if you must. Look at how the subscriptions have been handled and how those in charge play the blame game. When the rag folds there's not gonna be refunds, only a lot of ****ers.

I will agree that the way the 'new ownership' ran the business and subscription part of the magazine into the ground is shameful and disgusting. Not only did the **** over the subscribers, but the advertisers as well. All due to basically, negligence and no understanding of how to work in print media.

I just want you all to know that Brian and Dan had nothing to do with that. They did their part, produced content. And that content was well done.

The rest of it was someone elses responsibility, and unfortunately for Dan and Brian, who where the 'visible' people involved,, the real culprits are anonymous people in some office in LA who could give a **** about any of it.

I am posting because I feel that Dan and Brian are taking the blame for some lame **** they didnt do. Those dudes basically destroyed their lives
trying to make it work. And got ****ed for it. big time.

I watched them work themselves to death in the last year with zero, and I mean zero support from the 'professional' management company that was actually calling the shots. Towards the end they werent even getting paid on time and then not at all.

I do not see how it will be possible for there to be any more issues, since the 2 guys that did all the actual work to research and create the content have basically been tossed out on their ***es and left out to hang.

I love Garage magazine. The content was always creative and well delivered. I'm glad to see it back. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Something was obviously not working, so management and labor parted ways. If Stoner and Brian were the magazine, maybe we"ll see a new mag under a different name. If so I'll buy it. If the mag goes on with the same content and better distribution I'll keep buying that.

I heart the ZZ Top photos... I DO still want the keys.

If I see the mag anywhere, I'm buying it... drama or not, it's always a good read.

Diverse content, spotlight on the unknowns, no pigeonholing or pandering to only one demographic or sub-culture to make it "safe", "easy" and quick to create, constant effort to mix-up all the schools in one room to see what shakes down and a couple hundred other bad *** elements that never made the light of day.

    THANKS Dan and Brian.

  18. All I can say is Brain contacted me almost year ago now on the hydro story and need some info on airplane hydro and since I was living in Tucson where the boneyard is for the USAF I was able to talked too friends of mine who work on the flight line and got info that Brain needed for the piece in the mag. Brain is a good guy and I had meet Stoner at the roundup 2 years ago. Hope those guys start another mag or landed jobs somewhere else. Guess I will watch the stores for the mag on get if off the ebay.

Where to go... What to say...

Dan is a good pal of mine. He's a creative genius.

Jesse is also a pal. He's a fabrication genius.

Other than that. I know nothing... And kind of like it that way. It ain't relative to traditional hot rods.
