    Man, I wish I had more time at the show today to shoot more cars in this style. Instead of a couple of days I ended up with a couple of hours. Oh well - I thought these were kind of cool. :)

    Very cool effect. I like how the sunlight on the chrome leaves a starburst. :cool:

    yeah - I wasn't sure how the hdr was going to hold up with all the people moving around the cars, but it ended up being a cool effect - like the people are ghosts and only the cars are real. Unfortunately this takes a lot of time to do (upwards of 10 exposures per car - plus has to be on a tripod). With the rain limiting the amount of time I had, I only had time to shoot a couple cars this way. I can't wait to print a couple up. They usually look even better printed.

    I did shoot a lot of other cars though conventionally, and there is a trick to make an hdr from a single exposure(usually doesn't look as nice though). I might play around with a couple and see how they look. If I get anything interesting I'll put 'em up here later.

    No worries Paul. Lotta stuff going on. I said 'hey' to John at the Speedshop tent and he was bouncing around too - just sooo much stuff going on. It was real trip though that of all hundreds if not thousands of people out there the one 'stranger' I'd strike up a random conversation with would be your dad, lol.

    thanks all. :) These are low rez copies too. As good as they look on a monitor in my experience prints made from full rez originals look even better. Paul (dreddybear) has seen some of the prints in person.

    I think I did shoot that car but didn't do the multiple exposures for the hdr on it. I'll take a look.

    Do you mean this one? It's the only shot I've got of it.

    I'll be putting the rest of the pics from the show here as well. It'll take a while to upload them. Wish I'd had more time at the show - lot of awesome cars I didn't get to.

    I don't like the exhausts, radiator or choice of lights.

    Yeah guys, the prints look killer in real life. Like, have them professionally framed killer. It's surreal to look at something with so much color and definition. Thanks for the pics Mike!

    I remember dodging you, thinking " I better get out of the way of the professionals" - I was right. You do great work - I have happy accidents - like the pinstripe flames of the car in back of it coming out of the stack like smoke.

    uploading the rest of the pics from the show - should hopefully be done by noon? ;) Also got a couple before the Speedshop party in there. I know I barely scratched the surface though. Lot of cool cars - would have had a lot more eye candy if I had more time.

    Mr. Mike;
    As courteous as I always try to be to photographers while they are shooting; I shall now double my efforts to give you a wide berth and keep my shadows away. Heck, I may not even breathe the next time I see a guy with a tripod working! Those are PHENOMENAL shots. Congratulations, I know you are pleased with the results!
