bare steel ?

    im looking to unpaint my 54 chevy the bare steel look , wondering what are folks doing to keeping their rides from rusting ?

    clear coat? how about a bare steel looking paint?

    Gibbs, it works. We use it on the race car.
     
  4. Paint keeps it from rusting. The bare metal look is beyond played out , don't bother.

    I like the raw metal look but that's from a speedster prospective. If I have another one in me after my current project is complete I would like to do one all raw metal. Frame, block, head, radiator starter, the works.
    Current project is 29 A speedster and I've left a lot of the pieces raw and used clear coat. No rust so far but then what kinda rust can form when the ch***is hasn't made it out of the garage yet.
    Let me know how it turns out if you go bare, the best to you.
