The cruise on Central was postponed last week. It was rescheduled for tomorrow, 4/18. I've never been to it but heard it's a great show/cruise. Who's been there before? Who's going? I'm not sure which I'll drive, but if you see us, say hi: or
Were looking, for a few cars to park in the area for the "Southwest Nostalgia Drags" we have about 3 or 4 or ? parking spots reserved on vendors row depending on how early you can get there, if you have ever been to this event before you know how hard it is to find a parking spot. My 49's getting a new - bigger! better! faster!! Olds motor so its not going to make it. If your interested PM me..............Spike
I saw Glen and his extremely bad *** Model A and the 55 g***er wagon putting on lots of cruising miles and 49Flatty; I respect a guy who'll pack the whole crew into his shoebox.
Just got home about 20 minutes ago . My God what a Zoo er turnout !!! Got to Park Central about 4:30 ,got a spot without much trouble as the early birds were leaving. Filled right back up with the second shift. Took one lap up and down Central for old times sake ,sure different than the 60s. Born 40 years to late for sure !!
yes, that was a fun time.....I was glad that a lot of people actually cruised their car up and down the strip. The lawnchair stuff is boring. It was cool to see a lot of the fast stuff show up. Those "AZ fastest street car" members have some quick stuff. .
I remember when we used to cruise central ave on Friday and Saturday nights. We used to turn around on Van Buren and flick penny's at the ******s. It's a shame that they stopped that.
Ha!! Yeah - people were looking inside and were surprised by the car-seat with my 2 year old! He and my 13 yo had a blast! A nice woman noticed like a typical dad I forgot the sunscreen and offered some for my kids.
I just found this post, I got there late and didn't try to park in the display area. I checked out your truck, it looks good (I've got a 59 big window). I cruised in my turquoise 67 ford pickup for a while and went and had dinner at Macayos. I think we were one of the few "hetero" couples in there. Gay Pride Day is a kinda strange...
Was that your truck with the torq-thrust wheels? That is a really nice looking truck! Macayo's was tempting, but my 10 year old son voted for Jack in the Box, but he did want to climb the front of the Macayo's building. It's funny you mentioned the Gay Pride rally, I saw a lot of the attendees as we drove in and was suprised they were into old cars- until I saw the signs and realized they were headed to a different event.
