My Dad has a 31-32 Dodge truck Registered in Ca. and wants to reg. it in Tx. He lost the pink years ago and Tx. wants $1000.00 to do a search for a new pink. Is there a way around this in Tx. or should he try to do a lost pink in Ca. were I think its like $15-20 then reg. in Tx. I know that alot of project hot rods don't come with a title so how do you guys do it.

I would believe you answered you own question. I'd get the registration squared away in Cali and then it should be a cakewalk when he gets to TX.

If California decides to want back registration fees for their "wasn't non-opped just have him get the California proof of ownership because Texas won't care if it was registered in Cal they just want to see that he actually owns it.
