IF ... it has been ***led and registered since you sold it ... there should be a paper trail at the SC Department of Vehicles. :)

Finding a knowledgeable and HELPFUL DMV employee may be the most difficult part.

Shane ... pm me the info, I have a friend whose wife works @ the main SC DMV office here in Columbia ... and she MAY be willing to help.

The big problem you will run into is that of the Privacy act rules. They can't legally give out the info on who owns the car. Not to say that there are ways around it but things have really clamped down as far as getting that type of info.

face it if a guy walks by your OT pickup in a Walmart parking lot and happens to jot down the vin number and or plate number do you want him to be able to find out where you live?

If you know anyone in the police department they might be willing (with aproval from there boss) cant hurt to ask, The Privacy act has stopped some police officers from wanting to help.

  7. yup, I could look it up with my public data account easily. especially if you have an idea of what state it was last registered in, but otherwise, a search of most states is easily done as well.

I called my DMV ansd they told me that they could not give out the info, but they would contact the owner and give them the message that I was interested in buying their car. They said to send them a signed letter toi do it. JB2wheeler
