You tell him Tman......................Just remember all the posts on here are really "traditional".............Maybe thats why you see Model A's with big blocks and tunnel rams, there was an abundance of big blocks and tunnel rams back in the day when "traditional" rods were built. Again they need to go back to the 60's" Rod and Customs" etc. Okay enough said I'm probably in trouble again...............Later

Here's a case where the originals are not as nice as the new versions.....Only in that the manufacturing is better now, the old ones were the typical chrome steel hoop with an aluminum center. They're cool NOW only 'cause they're kinda kitschy.

trans america was one of those companies that built "knock off's" with a similar name for the style. I think they were sold through montgomery ward.

We just pulled some '60's versions off my dad's 34 sedan. One side had single rib, the other had 3 rib, with the M/T Flag spinners. I think I am going to put them on my '54 F100.

My memory is fuzzy but is seems like there was a drag racer named Radar, Radir or Rader Von Uhlit from Napa, Cal. that went South and did some things with Mickey Thompson. I think he did some wheel production. Maybe this will kick start someones memory.

It's been 3 months, so I hope it's cool to mention that I'm selling these here on the HAMB. Wasn't my original intent, so I'm not spamming or anything. If you're interested, Help me out. :)

Here is a link to for sale thread. Better pics, etc.

    Just to clear the air.

RadIr has nothing to do with RadEr..... Rader is the true, original wheel. Radir is the new, one peice, fully alumium knock off version.

Not saying I would turn down a new set of Radirs, but I would take a dump on a set if I had a nice set of Original Raders laying beside them.

I know this thread is old but I also have a set of Radars and my understanding is they were a cheaper knock off version of Raders, still made in the 60s though, and were available at JC Penney hahaha. Much like appliance and many other wheel companies had cragar ss knock offs

These are mine, on my old greenbrier. They were really crusty so I silver flaked the rims and applied goodsons cast on the centers and spokes. Best 50 dollar wheel treatment for that van
