So after the festivities of the weekend. . .a few pics (and some stolen from others ;), because of course, my camera crapped out along the way this weekend. . .) of the Edsel at the Round-Up:

Leavin' her temporary home at the shop last Weds:

At Reggie's BBQ (thanks Malcom for the pic):

On Congress, at Doc's Friday night, waiting for the Ladies of the HAMB:

But after all the falderall this weekend, finally recouperating, and realizing that I haven't been out on a solo drive in weeks (since my grrl was in various stages of paint/body work) I rolled her out to a little abandoned gas station in Elgin for a sunny drive and some photos:

Felt incredibly good to just be back on the road with her. . .I've missed my car, and the view from the road. . .

It would look quite phallic on the 4-speeds in my trucks. I think he could create a distinctive ball shift knob for my '54 and '48 Chebby's. Instead of a pair o' glass ones, I might get my friend at the foundry to make me a pair o' brass ones. Dunno.

Looking real sweet Frankie, you should be proud of all your hard work. So the big question is, how she run? With all the body work you've done is she gonna make it out to Midnight Mass in July? :)

I stopped by and took pics of my hubcap for ya. The wife wants to keep them for the pink car even though they came off the green one.

Tell your wife she's got good taste!! Those are the ones, the rare ones.. . hard to find and of course, the ones I want ;):D

Thanks to y'all. . .haven't been around much. . .just got done working 16 days straight (I think? I've lost track at this point); have today off, then 14 more in a row, then a much needed break and I'll be gettin' back on my car then. . .June is right around the corner. . .

Exhaust first, then back on paint. . .have to take care of my exhaust "leak" (i.e. complete lack of working exhaust system. . .) . . .that's the priority at this point. . .

Scallops and shiny paint are still in the works, but I'm leaning, at this point, towards taking a bit of time off on her, so that I can really do it right. . .Once I get back on the paint, she's off the road, and I would really like to enjoy her this summer, and not have her in the shop for the entire summer season. . .

We'll see. . .while it may take me a bit longer than originally anticipated, she will be shiny and scalloped soon, very soon. . .after all, I haven't even had this car a year. . .so. . .I think I've made a bit of progress on her ;):D

16 days working, one day off, then another 14? Did you join the reserves an go overseas? Damn girl that's harsh.

Not that we didn't miss you but you might be better off sleeping than being on here. Enjoy your day and keep an eye out for a thread of when mine gets here.

I would definitely get the exhaust fixed and drive the wheels off of it this summer. If you used DP90 Epoxy black primer, it doesn't have very good UV protection. I'm not sure about an answer on that, a paint pro can probably say, but heck you deserve a break after all of that.

What kind of exhaust troubles are you having? Just bad pipes, leaky gaskets? I would definitely get that fixed for sure. If yours has the crossover in front of the engine it might have a crack in the flange, theres some good stuff to fix that called "Magnum Steel" made by Devcon. I have patched some holes with it, I have a bad header tube that I was able to patch with that and a piece of stainless wrapped over it and a worm clamp.
