Here ya go Jim....sorry for the OT vehicle. This is an IH fleet Orange in DuPont Chromabase. It's just been top coated with some gold pearl.
I have some of it left somewhere if ya like it and need the code.
Or if you'd like, I may be able to talk with the owner of the Orange Crate. He may have the code for it.....but it's candy.

I hope all these color examples helped ya, but you have options to get it "your way" depending on what ya want. The very 1st step is to apply a bright white base. Even though it's an opaque color the base will make ALL the difference in the outcome. HOK white is pretty stark, Ford had a color called "Performance White" that's at least a standard offering. If you wish to throw caution to the wind, buy a pint of HOK "Neon Red" and add a splash of that to either Calypso Coral (early mustang/ford) or Hugger Orange. You'll need sunglasses at night for that outcome. Believe me the base is critical to get the "pop" you're looking for. One note of caution, the HOK Neon Red (super bright orangey color) is not very forgiving to UV light even under clearcoats and may pink out the color over time if you use too much. Good luck. I hope we get to see it when it's done.

Some of these are not really HAMB cars so I'll take a chance.

Jim- check out the later model Mustangs. They have a orange thats like a cantalope color. Dupont paint book calls it Valencia Effect. I've seen it on Ranger pick-ups also. Kind of an "old timey" color. I was thinking of using it on my Mod. A coupe with a red frame and grill insert.

I don't know why, but to me NOTHING says "competition car" like the color orange.

I don't know the exact color of this one, but it's orange, and it's F'ing BAAAAAAD...

So do you want yellow/orange or red/orange? Someone mentioned omaha orange, perfect yellow orange. '69 camaro hugger orange is a perfect red/orange. If you really want the color to go off the obnoxious scale paint it over a white base. Never mind that it's an opaque color, it WILL make a difference !

  26. Vinther's '34 3W is a very cool "Really Orange" lacquer, custom mixed by Betz himself - the '32 roadster Billy built for Mark Westrick (in the same style as his Model 40) was shot in Sikkens straight orange toner - my opinion, these two have the best solid orange color of any hotrods.
