When I was looking for another '57-'60 F-100 I found a barn full of stuff this guy has been collecting since the '50s. The '57 F-100(Ford-O-Matic) was purchased new by his brother-in-law who has p***ed, but he can't sell it as long as his Sister is still around. The V16 Caddy I don't think he will ever part with, not in this life anyway.
Oh I wish my stable looked like that, what a nice storage unit and ah the cars are really nice too !!
That Mark II Continental Coupe, the 50 Ford Wagon(do they ALL have surfboards on top?), the 40 Ford Coupe make my little heart go pitter-pat! Not that the big V16 Caddy isn't magnificent, it just isn't, you know...a real car.
Thats some really nice looking rides. The truck looks first cl*** and would make a killer street ride.
Maybe what he's trying to say is it's so rare/expensive/beautiful that for the average rodder, it's more a work of art than a car. They're undoubtedly fine road cars for the era. I feel the same about ferraris. They're definitely real cars. But even if a guy angled a little bit and got a cheap 308 in his garage........could he afford to flog it like a primered camaro? I know I couldn't. Jeezus those parts are expensive. So for me, owning one would not be like owning a real car. Make any sense? McTim, your friend has good taste in cars!
it would take a hell of a lot of disipline not to take one out and spank the **** out of it every once in a while ..
Here is one more in his collection, a 1913 Speedwell. I had never heard of one till I saw his. I think he said he bought it back in '52, still runs.
