Well the 57 is keeping me busy & has given me a reason to go outside & do something everyday.Some of you may remember the 54 Chevy pick-up project that I had. I posted it on here for $200 to a Hamber to repay some of the great things that you guys have helped me with & HAMBER Dallas took it. Anyway back to the 57. So far I have. Removed the stuck 327. Sanded & sanded again,put on some rust converter & cheap paint Bought a quart of rust bullet & used where needed(never again)POR 15! Bought & installed floor pans Bought & installed a brake booster & MC Bought 2 gallons of Bondo & filled the rusty back roof Removed front bumper to install 4.3 Smashed my index finger when socket slipped off of bumper bolts Bought & installed(mocked up) a 4.3 V6 Bought & began installing brake lines,which I had to remove when I put motor in Bought & installed a piece of plywood w/cut outs for the wheelwell,ran the plywood up to the back of the seats and cut out a door so I can use the rear seat floor area for tools & storage Bought a wiring kit from Gene. Bought new brake hoses & wheel cylinders Bought cheap indoor/outdoor carpet from Lowes.(Not molded,maybe moldy?) Wire brushed the big chunks of rust from the frame & underside. Sprayed undercoating on underside sheetmetal,rust converter of frame.Painted frame,a arms & other parts w/wally world gloss black Removed gas tank Bought a quart of red-kote Filled holes in gas tank w/ And a hundred other little things. Thanx guys for being there when I really needed someone, I'll keep you posted on my progress. Oldfart
Damn Dude ,Slow the hell down, you are going to make the rest of us look bad ! Serious,Its good you have your head into something else,and not worrying about all the other stuff you had going on a few months ago.. I'M happy for ya, But we both know that at some time down the road you will have to redo some of the work that you're doing now... that undercoating is going to be a bitch later on! NOT to mention the rust repair, but screw it this summer,get it running,driving and SAFE , Drive the snot out of it and enjoy some cruzin time....
And exactly why do I "have to be kidding"??? Did you see in the pic how much(or little)was left of the roof?
I'm gunna take you with me when I have to buy parts. You sure made the $200 from the Pickup go a long way!!!! Can ya see me smiling? Way to go old buddy.
