My 4 year old Chevy truck is covered in rust, had the motor replaced at 20,000 miles, will be getting the motor replaced again next week(un freaking believable) Had one of the calipers lock up, the blower motor stopped working, the cd player doesnt work, yet I have an 11 year old mitsubishi without a speck of rust that I have only had to change the oil in. Go figure.. F@ck GM they can rot in hell. I will never buy a new american vehicle ever again. rant over

  3. I usually notice the Mustang. It's one new car that get's my attention. You don't usually notice a GTO til it's gone past you and then it's like, oh, yawn a GTO. Fast but who cares. Looks and choices sell cars.

  4. Ya know if it was chopped and sectioned and lowered and ... :)
    Never mind:rolleyes:

You might also note the advertising now has Chevy, Caddy and Chevy trucks seperately advertised.
The doomed 3, Buick, Pontiac, GMC are advertised as a group telling buyers not to worry about their warranty being honored.

  9. Mitsubishi - from the people that brought you the Zero that bombed Pearl Harbor.
And just remember when it's all said and done all the profits from those companies go back to Japan - not here in the US. Hope you like Sushi.
    Rant over.

Damn you'd think this was an import forum. Here's a bunch of people building cars built by companies that they are slamming.

And as far as GTOs.. I have to put in my 2 cents here. If you never drove one, then you need to put a lid on it. I test drove numerous Mustang GTs and '04 and '05 GTOs before I decided on a GTO. The mustang was cheaper yeah... if I wanted a base cloth interior GT. The GTO had tons more power, and the nice, well appointed interior stock. A world of difference between driving a GTO and looking at one.

Sure the Aztec is an ugly pile.. so what.. that's one car. Show me ANYTHING that looks good in the toyota lineup...

but what really pisses me off is all you whiners complaining that GM is axing companies and all you can sit here and do is bitch about the companies.. YOU are the reason they are dropping the lines.

The 50s weren't that great remember polio. A guy up the street is really proud of his big garage. He is right it is one of the best in town. in the 50s it was used to store iron lungs.

Its definitly sad to see, thats for sure. but i dont think anyone should be told to shut up for the way they are voicing there opinons on these american car manufacturers... In a way they did dig there own graves after all.. I work on bmw's / MINIs for a living, ive owned cars from new to old. and I'm pretty open minded on all things that turn wheels.. but i honestly wouldnt buy any new car now a days.. it seems there all built to be 5 year cars. only good for a lease, never anything you would want to own for 20 years, or pay out of pocket to maintain after the warranty... The older i get, the older i want my transportation to be. let them all fumble, someone with the right idea will pick up the pieces.

  20. You know 100 or even 50 years from now no one will know the difference. It's still a shame right now.
I'm a Ford guy but I hate to see any of them go down.

The thing with some of us is that all of the American badges have been total pieces of crap since we were born. I think it will take more than a few changes to save them, it will take a miracle. The only post 1971 American car I have ever owned is a Jeep, and I'm 41. I would bet that MANY Americans under the age of 35 have never lived in a house that owned an American car.

  23. Im with you on the tucker, One of the worst things to ever happen to America, although I can understand the edsel... Not that it was bad, just that it was another ford.

funny thing. i remember seeing the concept for the Aztec and thinking it was pretty cool. i don't know what the hell happened between then and the start of production but that thing deserves the nick-name "Asscrack". YUK!

That's funny I'm 36 and have always owned either Ford or GM's and havn't had any issues with any of them!!! I have a daily driven 97 Ranger with 206,000 miles with the original exhaust and have never had a valve cover off of it ( I think the altenator is original) . They dont make them like they used to they make them better I still remember people bragging in the 70's because there Olds 350 had 120,000 miles today I dont change my plugs till 100,000.Wake up people and stop beleiving the negative attitude about American cars and the workers, we are not the enemy!! Read the J.d powers ,Harbour reports,Consumers Digests and tell me American cars suck. Get real Imports suck ass and our jobs !!!!!!

    ok I'm done now:cool:

Ive had my share of everything. It truely is a sad thing that GM cant get its shit together. I own a few cars, 2003 infiniti g35 (nissan)90k, 2007 tahoe 22k and a 99 ford lightning 60k for newer cars. Looking at all these cars, the nissan is the best of all them. Guess which one has never had anything replaced but wear items? Guess which one has no squeaks or rattles. I really hate to to see such an icon deteriorating away, but they kind of stuck their head onto the chopping block themselves. Ive just never understood why a foreign car can last 3-400,000 miles with regular maitenance. Its just so hard to hear of a domestic like that. Build quality just isnt there. Im still a ford guy, hell im a big 3 guy...just not brand new. Please dont flame me, but has anyone else noticed this problem?
