old trick,new to me

    I was on a different site and found this tip.

    I know it's old hat for some of you but maybe not for some others.

    Anyway, if you have a fastner with the edges rounded, in my case it would be star heads on an older jeep, use a dab of valve lapping compound to get extra bite.
    The abrasives act like a bunch of little teeth and dig into the metal.

    I love little tips like this and thought i'd p*** it along.

    Lapping compound also works on phillips head screw drivers if you have a screw thats to tight. Put a little compound on the tip, it helps it from slipping.
