Hi all. I need some help with a 53 chevy power glide trans. I bought a rare barn find and i'm in the process of finding out what works and what doesn't. I have most everything working now, but the trans is acting wierd. Reverse doesn't work properly, if i have it on jack stands i can get the wheels to move in reverse. But on the ground, i step on the gas and the car trys to move forward, then when the rpms start coming down it begins to try to move in Reverse. It's almost like it's in Low and Reverse at the same time. Any help would be great. Thanks much.

Your post should be in the discusssion boards and not in introcuctions. This is where you start by giviing an idea of who you are, your background and so on. Regarding your PG issue, go to the Tech Archives here and use the search box for Powerglides. It sounds like you may have some crud in the trans or just a simple clutch ***embly trashed. Is it an aluminum or cast iron case? That says if it is original or not. Dig around in here first and look at thye most logical treplies, then send a Private Message to the person. Also, try introducing yourself again............
