Is a Buick "fireball" V6 of any value?
I found this add and just wanted to know I never have seen one before.
    buick "fireball" v6 - $100

this is a 198 cid v6 "fireball" i had it in my 56 jeep came out of 62-63 buick special this is one of the very 1st v6 put into an american car. It is odd fired because the they use the plans from the old buick alluminium v8 and "chopped" 2 jugs. This engine is complete i pulled it rod bearing went out in 1st jug. It does need rebuilt when it was in my jeep it really would move this engine is known for its gas miliage and low end power. If you are looking for somthing special in your project this is it. Will consider trades I have a 56 jeep that needs parts! This is a complete turn key engine. It ran when i pulled it but i shut every thing down in time. will trade for jeep parts i really need engine and dana 18 case i dont need the gears just the case. Wife wants it out of the driveway before i get a diff. engine so i will take whatever it just needs to be gone

Well, as a core builder, it's worth 100 clams to someone who actually needs it... But if your starting from scratch on a project, the 231 buick V6 is light years superior.

Thanks took a look at the Mag but no info must have been last month.
I found an article, read a little on the Fireball and basically I think I should pass on it.

    thanks for the help.

We had a club member, when I lived in NC, that swore by them. Ran them in everthing from a '33 Pontiac to a '40 Ford Coupe.

Biggest issue to the fireball V6 is the bell housing pattern. It is a very odd one, and yes it is the same as the 215 aluminum V8. So finding something other than dual path drive transmission is going to be hard. The English Rover uses (or used) the 215 aluminum engine and it's transmissions may bolt up to the fireball. This is probably the most important reason why u don't hear much about the fireballs. Other than that I think they are pretty good engines, just not alot of HP.
