I have a chance to pick up a 30's Stude rolling chassis for the good price $0. It has the transverse spring IFS. Are there any good parts on it? Or should I just save my gas.

I had a complete 1937 Studebaker, less the fenders hood and cowl that brought $99.99 two months ago. Hope this helps. I was happy, and made money on the deal. [IMG]

  3. Do you know exactly what year 30's it is? I have a 32 Stud and it had leaf's on all 4 corners. I could be interested in the back half. Do you have any photos?

It is probably newer than 32. It has an independent front end with a buggy spring. The rear in the standard semieliptic spring setup. I kinda remember that the front suspension was used in some old gassers, good weight transfer. What about the steering box? The box is there, but the shaft and mast have been cut off. It looks compact. Sorry, no pics. PnB, PM me, and we can go look at it together. I'm retired, so most anytime would work.

Do the "A"-arms look kind of like driveshafts???
I have a 37 that had that kind of set-up. Very weird looking contraption.

    Mr Happy,
You got it! It's kinda weird. I don't know what I would use it for, and don't really have the space to store it, so I thought if anyone else could use stuff off of it I would get it. So far not to much interest.

I hear ya. I can't even give away the stock drivetrain.
Makes a good conversation piece, though.

Ferget the wacky IFS, if it's the same as the one in the last picture, it's got an x-member and a wicked kickup as standard. If I had it I'd use it under a model A or similar with ford front half frame rails and axles.

This is what a $99.99 1937 Studebaker looks like.
