My name is Dustin and I am 25 years old. Over the years I have collected basic tools, skills, and knowledge to start building hot rods. I'm ready to jump in the deep end. I have a couple projects already lined up.

I have a 1966 Plymouth Fury III 4-door with an original 318 Poly motor. I have a full airbag system with a 4-link that I will be installing this summer. The body mods will be few, ex. shaved door handles and side molding. The rims will be 15" Mopar Police Rallyes.

My next project will be more radical. It is a 1923 Dodge Coupe that will be rat rod, built for speed. It will get a monster big block Ford. The top will get chopped and the chassis will sit real low. It's going to be loud, uncomfortable, and hellaciously fast.

I'm excited to be part of the HAMB club. I've already learned a lot so far.

I forgot to mention that I'm deployed right now and I will post pictures when I get home next month.

Welcome to the HAMB. Hopefully spending some time here will make you change your mind about building a Rat rod. Don't use those words in any other posts.

I do have to ask, though. Is it the style of car or the "rat rod" name that is offensive?

Welcome to the board. I love Ratrods, Beaters, Prostreets, Hotrods, Jalopy's, Lowriders, Mini's, monster trucks and everything else on wheels.

It's all about whatever YOU like. Hope you enjoy the place. I've learned a ton of stuff!

  7. Both.

Whenever there are threads featuring those things, they tend to be closed. It is also often suggested that the he posters take their stuff to the Old Skool Rodz site where it is apparently welcomed.

Sometimes it takes new guys a while to realise that this is a specific interest site, ie. traditional pre '65 hot rods and customs.

    Welcome and soak it up.

  8. Hey Dustin. Welcome from Clarksville. I see that you have already found the "Arkansas H.A.M.B.'ers" social group, theres a lot of great folks and a lot of good info there, as well as the general boards. We look forward to your return home and thank you for your service! Post some pictures when you can.

  10. Welcome from Denton, TX. I would love to see pics of the Fury, for obvious reasons.

You build what ever kind of car you want it is yours and you only have to make yourself happy. I built a hot rod and every Tom dick and Harry calls it a Rat Rod so who fucking cares.
