Good looking start on a 40, glad you can share that with your son. I hope to see it around here on the road soon. Joe

Quit harping on him about using the r.r. and street rod word dang! as much as i hate them to, i hate seeing the same thing over and over again about not using the dreaded words. One post about it is enough, just enjoy the truck please.

I'm not jumping on a bandwagon, I'm stating a point. Most everyone on this site is so deluded and judgemental that anyone that comes in with a different view of what is traditional you guys attack them. I've read threads here forever, joined and barely ever post. enjoy reading all the great tech data, and alot of posts are trully interesting. Heres the problem, what would you consider a traditional hotrod, where do you draw the line.

I'll throw a pic of my hoopty out just for an example, just to see how far off the traditional path I am. I have 4 children, and my funds for this ride are LOW. Has a ****py homeade grille, because someone swiped it years ago. Blem Whites, because there cheap. I have 2,500 in this and have put 10,000 miles on it in 6 months. Most people around here call it a rat rod, I call it my way to lose myself from the worries of the world, and just have fun rollin with the family.

The only reason I posted a complaint, is that everytime something doesn't sound traditional you guys attack, and I got tired of reading it.

Now that's a bit more civilised. Maybe you could have gone this route the first time 'round. Don't have a problem with your car or your situation. I have a family too. But the HAMB is here for a particular reason and if you want to make it something else, you're on the wrong horse.

Truckncoupe. Well done! You've done 2 things that have impressed me already:
    1. You are building cars with your kids. I hope I get to do that later on.
    2. You took the TRADITIONAL HAMB flaming with good spirits. Nice truck.

Slapnuts.......your car is NOT a rat rod! That is a nice looking "unfinished" car that would fit in anywhere & any time. The general public or your uninformed friends my call the car a r-r, but not on this site my friend. You should be proud of what you have done on a limited budget..........just loosen up a bit bud, welcome to the HAMB!:)

    Hey Fellow HAMB members,

I've got to admit, when I go to a car show its very hard for me not to like just about everything... I love the old cars whether original, traditional, hot rod, street rod, rat rod or whatever ... I just love the cars.... some not as much as others but very few not at all.... As the famous words once said.....

CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?

Contraceptives equal hot rods. You should have your mouth washed out with soap and sit with your nose in the corner for an hour. Calling all the old timers ***holes? I really resent that and you happen to be insulting my dad with that statement as well. You see he was one of those '***holes' in the early 50's that was trying go fast and have some fun. Next time, think a little before you blurt that **** out.

I like the 40 minus the wheels and door art. You and your son have built something you will remember for a lifetime. Thumbs up x2 for me.

So Mickey and Minnie Mouse are in divorce court, and the judge says to Mickey: "I understand from your filing that you are divorcing Minnie on the grounds that she is insane, correct?"

"No", says Mickey. "I didn't say she was insane, I said she was ****in' Goofy".

Nice truck Goofy's got there. I had a 40 Ford pickup many years ago that I sold to a buddy in Iowa, it's his shop truck, but has a lot of road time on it as well, to events all over the country.

I echo the wish by some that my son was more interested in the old iron than he is. But I do have a 12 year old daughter that is showing some promise, so am hoping she sticks with it.

Slapnuts, nice car. Definitely a HAMB-friendly machine.....

I've known truckncoupe for 40 years. 35 years ago, he drove around Tulsa in a flathead-powered '41 Ford. He's owned enough cars, built enough cars from the ground up, and knows enough about cars, to call it whatever he wants.

You don't know what a hoopty is, thats cool. The sentence you just typed is barely english, incoherant rambling, so I guess we're even on not understanding.

You spelled incoherent wrong, forgot your apostrophe to complete the contraction "that is," and didn't capitalize the 'E' in English...

    but who's counting.

This is an old gag, but it never really gets old.

On a side note.....I remember my grandma calling my '51 F1 a "hoopty". Funny, I hadn't heard that since I was a kid. She's still alive, I'll have to ask her where that came from.

And you didn't capitalize the 'B' in but in the start of your sentence. Who cares.

I'm an easy to get along with guy, but I hate when people lump all things together, like rat rodders. I myself am now a hipocrit, because I did the same and lumped all of you together. All I'm saying is that not all rat's are a bad thing. If you have a wrench welded in to hold your shock in place, then you deserve to catch some hell. I on the other hand get no love from either side of the fence. I'm called a poser for having a satin black car with red wheels, and here it seems I'm a rat rodding piece of ****. Can you see my aggravation?
