Be careful, and DONT eat the pork.

  6. Stay out of TJ!!!! To much bad shit happening south of the border. The SanDiego Auto museum is worth seeing. They have a pretty decent swap at Jack Murphy Stadium about once a month. Plent of other shit to do. If nothing else go to Pacific beach and enjoy the eye candy. Todd

Go to Ocean Beach and eat a burger at Hodad's.

Go to Chula Vista and eat tacos al pastor at Tacos El Gordo.

Go to North Park and eat pizza at Lefty's Pizza.

Go to Little Italy and eat lasagna at Filippies.

Go to City Heights and eat pho at Saigon.

Go to Lemon Grove and eat carnitas at Carnitas Uruapan.

Go downtown and eat fish and chips at Karl Strauss.

    I'm hungry.

Don't go to Mexico, too much chance for trouble. San Diego has world class beaches, a famous zoo, lots of entertainment downtown, and a vibrant hot rod scene. There are cruise nights and car shows.

    I just made ribs...

Yeah, unless you have a buddy that is familiar with TJ, don't go. Go to PB and look at boobies.

Lot's of cool stuff to do.

    Live music:
    The Casbah
    The Radio Room
    The Tower Bar
    Tio Leos

I can't think of any car stuff... Although on the 9th there is some cool stuff in LA/ OC
    - Aces on the 9th
    - Gasoline is starting a new art show. on the 9th.

Tugmaster said "The SanDiego Auto museum". He's right; its in Balboa Park. So is the Zoo.
Along the waterfront, there is the Maritime Museum (including the Star of India sailing ship) and the USS Midway museum.
Be sure to eat at In-and-Out Burger.
The Hotel Del Coranado is neat.
I love that town; too bad its 2500 miles away.

I never make it up there, but they always get good acts.

Look on www.sdreader.com for event stuff...

GaryM - those are all cool places, but way touristy. Except In-and-Out, pretty good burgers.

If you are in town for burgers, hit Hodad's and The Malt Shop.

My wife and I were there a few years back and found lots of interesting spots. We got tickets for the "Old Town Trolley Tour" that goes all over the area and you can get on and off anywhere you like. One place we stopped at had old cars and the best model train display I have ever seen. It was fantastic. Hope tou enjoy yourself.

You hit the mark Joe....Lefty's, Filippi's and the Tower Bar for sure! Cuise nights up and running in Chula Vista, El Cajon and La Mesa by then i think? Plus get-togethers at Fosters on Thursdays and i hear at the new Sonic in El Caon. Oh yeah...good call on Los Cuatros Milpas. Passed by there at the Chicano Park celebration this weekend and the line was going down the street.

Oh, yeah - hit up Dick's Last Resort! Twice a year they do all you can eat snow crab legs... live music, pretty girls and the wait staff if completely comprised of assholes.

I run the myspace for the Fosters cruise night: http://www.myspace.com/antilamesa.

I'll have to try Yakitori... I work next door to the sports arena.

If you have access to a computer when you are out shoot me a PM.

  28. Maybe one of the local HAMBers will give a hard working military man a tour of the town. If I still lived in San Diego I would hook you up shipmate. Todd

Come by True Line, or call anyway. I'll show you the scene and/or point you in the right directions.
