anyone here collect vintage lincoln gas driven welding machines? lincoln built theyre first one in 1914. been looking for pictures of it online and havent found anything. lincoln's web page just gives the company history with a few pictures. i would like to find a early aircooled machine for a old truck build. i have a SA200 but it too heavy and too new for what i want. a flathead powered one is too big and too heavy also
got one on my service truck a 230 amp powered by a v4 wisconsin, sold one that was in my shop a 200 amp that needed a valve job for 100$ they really weld and are great for airarcing, it really snorts when striking a arc but will really lay down some welds, nice to have a DC on the farm I still run a torpedo welder in my shop what a screamer3 phase
I don't know about collecting Lincoln weldres but I have two SAE 200s and an SAE 400. The 400 has a Continental 6 in it and both 200s have the cont. 4s. My oldest one is a 1946 ,still welds like a dream. LEE
Thread Resurection... I'm in the process of reviving a trailer mounted, Hobart engine driven 600amp DC welder. Powered by a Chry slant 6, runs good. Waiting on some brushes I ordered to see if it will weld.
