want to see some of your creative ways you have to hide your battery,if it's in the car. mine is an old steel toolbox i found, fitted my main breaker,and some of the fuse blocks into it,also an autometer voltmeter, that way if I have electrical problems,i can see main bus voltage right at the battery. I have a regular one on the dash,but i had this one around,so I used it.
I wanted to leave the box original looking, but it was just too rusty, I ended up bead blasting it, and coated it with zinc chromate primer,then rattle canned it black. also spot welded in some metal to cover unused holes. this will hold an Odyssey pc 625 battery. t bolts to the floor pan behind the passenger seat. I have a reinforcing plate under the floor pan where the battery goes, but this battery only weighs 13 pounds or so. the hold down bolts will go through the floor pan into the plate under it. I won't say the car it's out of, not traditional enough for most of you guys,but this project could be applied to any rod as well.

after. I hadn't wire tied in all the wires yet. has two fuse blocks, one is hot all the time,other is ignition switched with a relay. the big double fuse block feeds those two,and the other fuse is for the audio stuff

i'm using a A100 dodge box in my rambler...

 

Bump to the top.....Are there any other creative remote battery box ideas out there? I am at this point in my build and want to mount the battery in the bed of my 48 Ford. Could use some inspiration.

 

I thought I would bump this back up, I know there are some other cool boxes out there.

This isn't the best picture of the battery box but this one is made to match the fuel tank in the trunk. there is always the ice chest ones you see in tri five cars. a converted tool box is a good one. A battery box has a lot of potential most of the time you have to have access to it and the trunk is a good place for it why not get a little creative with it and personalize the box. I have made a few where the top is recessed and the club plaque is bolted in. I would like to see others ideas.
