Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 56 ford custom, Apr 28, 2009.

  1. I found a rear windshield from a 1964 falcon 2 dr sedan, will it fit a 4 dr sedan?

yep. all sedans from same year use same rear glass, matter of fact ALL (60-65)falcon sedans use same pattern windshield. hardtops and convertibles? NO. they be different entirely.

  3. So you are saying it doesnt matter if the car is a 2 or 4 dr sedan from 60-64 the back window will fit all?

As long as it's a sedan.
I think there might be a few exceptions.

If you can locate the Hollander Interchange manuals from that era, it will tell you exactly what will fit your Falcon. Old salvage yards usually still have the old ones, and you might get lucky and find them in a good public library.

You can't buy ANY rear windshield for ANY price 'cuz there ain't no such animal. Cars have only ONE windshield and it's in the front. That piece of glass in the back is NOT a windshield-it's a backlite, a rear glass, a back window but it definitely is NOT a windshield.

yep, forgot to mention the rounded backlight versus the flat one. "backlight" is the preferred term for the "back window" BTW.
and you can get a new gasket from dennis carpenter about 90 bucks. it's worth it to get soft rubber and not risk busting a replacement backlight putting it in on old rubber.

  13. Thanks 62rebel
