Does anyone know where I can buy these nuts. I need them for the door hinge to a-pillar mounting on my 49 cadillac. Thanks

I'm sure there are other sources, but I ordered my 5/16 x 18 from McMaster Carr. You might try Fastenal also. I use these too cause I'm lazy and it's easy to order online from McMaster or pick up stuff locally at Fastenal. My .02

Many of the old Ford repo Vendors have them.

Seriously though, is there a Granger near you? They seem to have just about everything.

Mcmaster-Carr for sure, Fastenal will charge you 4-5x more than Mcmaster.

There's a super hot looking woman that works the local Fastenal.Very knowledgable about fasteners and hardware too.Says their policy is to sell in bulk-100 or so at a clip.
She still sells small lots of fasteners when we go in and doesn't seem to mind that we
    "appreciate' her?
I like our local Fastenal,I like it a lot...

The proper nomenclature is "cage nut"

I have found that the cage nuts that you can buy do not have a lot of movement in them compared to factory cage nuts. I make a reproduction gm cage nut for the restorations that I do. They are just like factory and I make them for any thread.
