Been mining this site for info so I figured I better register and stop lurking. Short story, I was going to buy a cheap truck after returning my leased ford crew cab. Well in all my looking the Galaxie bug bit me and the truck went out the window. Ended up with a 62 2dr with a fresh 460 hi-comp wedged in. Having lots of fun decobbing it Dave
Here's a couple pic's that the guy sent me before I bought my galaxie. It's shined up now and the 460 is loving the new cam. The drivetrain is what really got me to buy this car. The guy knew nothing about cars, The guy that he bought it from had the engine built. The let a little tic get worse and worse until he killed the cam. When I went up to look at it he had pulled the intake and valve covers. The first thing I spotted was the stainless roller rockers and the the spotlessness of the engine inside and out. all together it has a brand new engine, exaust, 9 inch rear end, complete brake system, shocks. I mean there's not even any grime or dust on the sides of the block, exaust etc. The int. has been redone but has faded with time. I need to try and redye it. Ayways, that's the story morning glory. Cool! Thanks. Give me a while to get some tires and wheels on this thing and a couple other things. I would gladly drive it up with these tires if they where not cracked to beat hell. I had to put a tube in one of them to get it to hold air Now I dumped all my money into the engine and I am broke Looking for some used wheels and tires to throw on it. Hopefully I can find something cheap soon Anyway, It sounds like fun. Could you give me the nearest intersection? Dave
Welcome from another 62 owner. Wish i had your clean 460 in mine! My original 352 is getting a littlel tired. Have you checked out the 1962 ford galaxie registry? Pretty cool site... cheers, Nailz
Nice car! No I haven't seen the 62 galaxie registry. I looked at the galaxie club of America but, have not joined it. I will have to take a look. Thanks for the info. Dave
