I just pulled the leaky torque ball out of my '59 buick. I put in new seals and put it back in. Only to have it leak around the actual torque ball, I believe the vulcanized rubber seal around the cupped end is worn and causing it to leak. I've found a bunch of sites that sell all the seals and parts that retain the torque ball, but none that actually sell or recondition a torque ball. Hell, hardly anyone even knows what the hell it is. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Nothing like having a 20 ft car with the rear end out hogging all your garage space.

When you do the final tighten on the tourque ball you need the car weight on the wheels per the Buick manual. On my 56 the only part that stopped the leaking was a NOS Buick tourque ball and seal. I also used an old 55 accordian style seal as a dust cover to keep the road dirt off the ball surface.
