New guy from Connecticut here. Been lurking on this site for awhile now, just purchased a black 41 Plymouth five-window business coupe so figured It's time to register. The Plymouth still has it's original flathead six, rebuilt 20K miles ago and fitted with an aluminum Fenton intake and twin Carter carbs, Crane elec ignition, trans is 3 spd w/overdrive from a 54 and has a floor shift conversion, 2 spd elec wipers upgrade, suspension is stock other than being lowered and brakes are stock.
Welcome aboard, our new nutmegger! Where are you at? I'm near Winsted - north west-ish part of CT -90% Jimmy
Thank you all for the warm welcome. I'm in New Milford over on the western side of the state. I have pics to post but need to work out how to go about it. Removed the aftermarket chrome Appliance wires wheels yesterday and mounted the orig set of 16" steels on cross ply's. Much happier with this look.
Welcome to the HAMB! Saw you old race car photos first so I had to check your intro. We're only a 1/2 hour apart, I hit the Elephant's Trunk flea market every Sunday in New Milford.
VERY COOL CAR, I would not change a thing, however pull the tach. off the steering column, and hide it in the glove box under a box of kleenex. If you do not mind me saying so that is.
Curly Hand- No problem, happy to get some feedback on the car. I agree with ya about that plastic tach. I've only had the car for 8 days but I've already made a few changes to back date the spec. First change was the wheels/tires. The tach has been on my mind so it's next. It's been a fun 8 days and I'm racking up the miles. No doubt the oldest car in the grocery store parking lot yesterday.
Welcome aboard....My mother's family is from Winchester Center/Winstead area much like 85-Percent.... It's a small world after all...it's a small, small world.
