Last night I got tired and got hurried and cross-threaded a rocker arm bolt in an aluminum head on a 3.4 gm v6. The threads in the hole about an inch and a half deep i think, and i ******ed up the top 3/8 or so of the threads. Do you think I can get by with running a tap in the hole to clear things up? Should I put some JB weld on the bolt when i put it back in? Suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Oh, by the way. I really hate this stupid engine. I paid a guy a year ago 1700 bucks to replace the head gaskets. He put the cheap intake manifold gasket in it again! I went back with the steel core gasket, so I hope this is the last time I have to work on this thing for a while.

Heli-coil it. If its done right it will be stronger then the original threads.
