    Hey,
Did I get the bastard stepchild of cars?

My little beast "Ferdie" is missing body panels, headlight bezels, and the hood latch/radiator assembly.

I've tried searching for parts online and there's not much going on, mostly trim pieces.

Oh, and does any one of the Minnesota HAMBers know what the name is of the Ford aftermarket supplier next to the "U".

I hope the Gophers State meet goes well this weekend, maybe that next snowstorm will miss us.

    Thanks!!

I might have to take a trip to the cities and have lunch at the Chinese buffet across the street and run over to ax-man for some goodies.

I've had a '52 Customline for nearly 14 years and I've probably only seen maybe 10? 15? 52-54 Fords on the road or in shows since then? They definately aren't common.

I need someone to come kick my ass and help me put mine back together...maybe one day it'll see the road again.

You might find a little info at shoeboxford.com.

tex smiths how to build shoebox fords and mercurys covers years 49-54, FWIW.

I personally love the 52-54 bodystyle but compared to shoeboxes they're rare as hens teeth. I dunno why that is,it's kinda like the 55-57 fords, you'd never know they outsold chevy those years by how many are on the road but they sure did.

I passed on a 54 a few years ago and still regret it, done correctly I think they look really great chopped.

I know its not the best but all of the items you listed routinely show up on e-bay under 53 ford search.
    Hope this helps.

you'll find that almost every 53 Ford car is missing it's headlight bezels, as they are instant french jobs for custom work on the cheap. i had a '53 Customline Club Coupe that got the better of me and i sold it, getting a "promise" not to part it out... next time i saw it the bezels were gone, the taillights were gone, etc.... i was soooooooooo stupid on that car; it was a v8 model, had been set up for 327, originally had an O/D in it... damn being too damn hasty making decisions.
