I'm still waiting on the $20 promised to me by Lucky for the 56 Chevy A-Pillars I sent him a year ago...I wasn't even making money on the deal, just covering my out of pocket expenses to help a guy in a tough spot.

For the most part thats' not been a problem for me,if you have more than one person wanting the same part that can be an issue.I tell them the "first one to pay, gets the deal" and state in your ad paypal or money order accepted,I always like to ship "signature required" and pm them a tracking number as soon as you ship the item. Some folks do need to practice a little common courtesy and let us know if they change their minds or they are short on bucks and can't finish the deal ASAP in fairness to other buyers.

I get buyers calling "dibs" and then no comunication. Even have one right now called dibs on something that was listed with shipping included so he knew beforehand what it would be, then asked to send a money order, I gave him my address. After 2 weeks or so writes me asking for a paypal address so he could "just do that instead", been several days, nothing.

Not much you can do other then just block them so they can't pester you anymore.

  9. what about sellers? i have ran across a few folks selling theirs goods but refuse to take paypal , now i dont really have a problem with that other than i work offshore (no mail boxes)and getting money orders aint gonna happen for me out here either, but once this fact is established more than one person has acted like i was out to **** them on payment or the fee from paypal! i will pay the paypal fee thats not a problem but if their very existance is teattering on $3 ****in dollars and want to treat me like a thief they can shove their goods up thier ***.. in for a penny out for a pound!

for the most part most of my purchases have been good ones and i have recieved some excellent stuff from some great folks ..

    Alliance Vendor

I put up 3 ads in the cl***ifieds for some leftover headers and intakes from vending at the round up. In 2 days I pretty much had half of it sold. Ad's said pay pal or call me with credit card number I can run it through my shop & alliance member got free shipping. Not one of the buyers responded after saying they will take it.... I may take **** for this but I deleted all the ads and put the stuff on eBay for more money than the cl***ified ads. It's disappointing that guys wast sellers time. Don't get me wrong, its a free ad, but if your not going to follow through..............

I like the idea of using just Alliance Members but in reality just because you pay $50 doesn't make you a stand up person. You can join up with very little post count.

Personally, I think you need to be smart with the entire process. Think of all the possible out comes and prepare properly.

I hate to hear people getting screwed or just screwing with others. Not cool.

It's a PITA I know, but at least you sellers still have your parts.

I sent $375 to Matt&Sarah in Texas & never saw the part. Never heard from them again. $375 gone......

I thought seriously about offering some fine Texan $100 to deliver $375 worth of whip-*** on my behalf. If I didn't want to do it so badly myself, I would have.

  16. I hear ya....apparently those much needed parts don,t seem to be that needed after all....

  17. the first time i bought something on here i was scared. scared to send over 350 dollars to some guy i have never met and know that i might not see my parts or money again. as far as selling i have never send out an item until i get the money in my hand. and i usually pay more for shipping then what i quote the guy:D

I would only buy from alliance members, the next thing I would check is their posts. There are currently allot of items for sale by an FNG and 47 of his 49 posts are items for sale.

Perhaps some type of rule that would restrict cl***ifieds meaningful contributers.

I have done quite a few deals on the board. Glad to say all turned out OK. I have let a couple folks know that if they were'nt sure about me they were free to post on the board for references. Not sure if any of them did, but I am sure I would get a good review from the folks i have delt with.

  21. yup i hate it too. but i dont mind it id rather have a happy person and usually im only out like 5 dollars or so

I've had a couple people sign up just to be able to PM me about my ad then blow me off...I don't get it why waste time signing up just to blow somebody off. I would say half the time I contact someone about their ad I get no response, lame.

I've found that post count is not a feedback rating.

HA HA HA. I just gotta laugh. I seem to remember some dude a few months ago posting a wanted ad for a 55-7 chevy wagon rear upper hatch. I responded. Dug the heavy sum***** outta my rafters. Sent pics and a price. Dude says give him shipping costs. I figure costs, give the total to him. He says yes, he wants it bad and money will be sent right out. I wait. Wait some more. Wait even more. Nothing. After I send him a few PM's he responds he doesn't need it anymore. What a douche. Having been burned before on big things, I at least didn't box the damn thing up. On a side note, I just gave the damn hatch away 2 weeks ago at a swap meet because I didn't want to deal with ever having to ship it.

So far I haven't had a bad experience with a HAMB'er. I do check their time on the board and post count though. I just sold a bunch of stuff, and if they were a member in good standing I sent the items right away. I am not talking about high dollar stuff, or I think I would be a little more cautious.
