Very fancy. I like the look. That car is one of my favorites for sure, and it just keeps getting better.
Chris keep them they look awesome! The interior definitely does not slap you in the face which is a good thing and I think they are perfectly simplistic. Damn, I love that coupe.
I hate to say it, but you asked for opinions... To me, the door panels look like they are from a different concept than the seat. A pleated seat with matching piping would look better to me with those door panels. But I love the seat as is and would make plainer door panels to match. Maybe find a way to pull the contrasting piping into the door panel somehow? The workmanship looks top notch, car is looking great, etc. Keep in mind I am an idiot and have redone everything on my car about 5 times already - and I don't even have interor in it yet!!! But I am leaning towards really simple panels and piping just like your seat, probably in black with maroon or olive piping. I am struggling with the door panels, too - will be tough to get them plain enough to match without having them look too plain. Maybe totally plain with escutcheons and a really simple map pocket? I wish WA wasn't so far away from OH, would be fun to visit with you guys! Keep after it, Will Kimble
I really like the door panels. Simple, yet interesting design. Hate the seat. Too plain, looks like an econo truck seat cover. It needs a little detail to it. Also, the white piping is only on the seat, it's not tied into anything else. The workmanship is great, the design needs help.
Thanks Will Kimble and zzford, I really appriciate the honesty. First off, I love the seat. I know it is plain, thats what I wanted. The car is plain and low-key, thats what I wanted in the seat- like a school bus seat Bruce did an oustanding job on the seat (even though e thought it was kinnda stupid). On the panels, The design is kinnda busy. I think he did not put any white piping on it because I told him I wanted em plain...white piping in that design would look too crazy for my taste. I would have been happy with a plain maroon panel, but thats just me. I guess the biggest thing to me is with the piping the same color, it totaly reminds me of the "mono-tone" era- via 80's. I am SUPER picky on stupid little details on cars, and maybe I shouldn't be. Like I said, I don't dislike them, they are great quality and all, just maybe a little too busy...they are growing on me though. I think I'll wait until he gets the rest done like others suggest and see. Thanks all!
I think they look fine, and they probably wont seem so busy when the rest of the interior goes in. None of that matters anyway though, the Moon decals in quarter windows make the car.
I love the door panels, they look great! I'd leave 'em as is...Tastefull, not over the top, and even look like they could be period correct, (if the matters...) I wouldn't change a thing, and I think I might steal the idea for the panels on me '28 coupster...(I guess if you're stealing something, not the best idea to tell everyone about first, eh?)......Oh well, I'll just say I was "inspired" by them...
I like your seat and the thought process you used to get there. Here is my seat and I went with the plain flat panel for the same reason as you:
