So after Two years in my garage our 53 has come out of hiding. It was sitting the entire time I was in Iraq. I want to put white walls on it but not sure how theyed look. If any of you photo shop pros can help me out I would realy appriciate it.
Sorry I can't help with photo shop but what a nice looking car Red. I personally would run wide whites! And also thanks for your commitment to our country....
Yea these wheels, I thought about some wheel covers but cant decide on the right set. I am open to suggestions if you got any.
wide unless you are going for a mid 60's mild custom look. Narrow whites with the chrome reverse wheels and moons looks pretty mid 60's but I graduated from highschool in 65 and that was what the big guys had then.
Wide whites and mine is about to go in storage as I am getting close to deployment myself! Good luck with her and thanks for your service. DS SSG Merritt
I say thins cause of the rims I just dont like chromes with wide whites gotta break it up a bit. thow some caps with wide whites wld look good...See ya at rumbler thunder!
I agree on the wide whites. I'm guessing that your wheels are a dual-pattern so they aren't a good cantidate for running without the center cap or with spider caps. But a set of the bullet center caps that are availible (also known as shannon cones) would look real nice on those wheels with the wide whites. I could dig up a picture if you want to see what I'm talking about. I agree that the baldy caps are a bit too 60's for the car.
Welcome home!! If your going to keep those rims. I would say wide whites. I think shannon cones would look cool on the instead of the caps. If you wanted to change it up, a set of supremes and pinner whites would look great with that paint scheme. Todd
Hey squablow A pic of those caps would be great. I think i know what they look like but my dad used to call em "tits"
I like the mid 60's look too, but a set of 3 and a half inch gangster white walls usually do the trick...
A link to Shannon cones. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=213465&highlight=shannon
The graphics are a bit past a 50's feel, just about any 5 spoke will look good on this car with pinner whites. actually a double stripe might work well
