1936 Chevy Closed Drive Shaft To Open

    Has anyone converted a Chevy closed drive shaft to "OPEN" drive shaft At the "Rear End Differential" ?

    Nope ,don't work like a Ford style. Change the compleat rear axle ***y.

    Have you ever looked at parts breakdown or cutaway ***y drawing of one of them? (Motors Manual). They are unbelievably complex compared to a Ford-you don't want to go there.

  5. Yes. What they do is they take the entire stock rearend out, and roll back under it a rearend out of an S10, Nova, Camaro, 55-57 Chevy or other car. Some of them should bolt right up if you drill a hole so it mounts properly on the locating pin. At least that's how it works for the 40-54 cars.
