What I like best about your truck is the fact that it is yours to do what you want with it. It's coming along nice!

The main reason for the swap was my hood had big holes and the new (old) hood was solid except for a couple of pin holes. I have yet to see a solid '63-'66 hood come up for sale in my neck of the woods. Secondary was that I like the nostrils.

So, it's not what you would do? You hate it? It's a good thing you're not paying for it. Or driving it. :D

Hey Terd, I am not chevy guy, but my Dad had a truck very similar to that one. I like the new hood, Maybe you could make the eyes in the hood hold a contrasting color, and turn signals that are the shape of the bowtie in them. I am a fabricator and I know what you trying to accomplish.

Some of these nay sayers are just set in there ways, It has driven alot of people from this site. I have been away from here for a long time, see things haven't changed much. In the end, tell them to kiss yer *** and keep showing us your progress. The site does list a cut off, but not sure how they arrived at it unless it was Ryan's preference at the time. Keep up the good work.

I guess if we listened to everyone here, anything after 65 would be crushed, but 65-now is as much history to me as pre 65 is to them.

I like it. It's different, and it seems to be coming together nicely now. I also agree with whomever mentioned flipping the front bumper, that could look nice too.

You know why I like your truck? Because you like it! You know what pisses me off, ***holes who think they are the traditional police? If they don't like the thread, don't open it! Only open the threads that say "traditional" in the ***le. There's a bunch a threads on here that I never open because of the ***le. According to some folks I know who had Hot Rods in the fifties, most of the cars on here that people say are traditional, are not how they where back then anyway, they are to nice! Here in Dayton, Ohio there where only about ten completely finished cars on the road in the late fifties, the rest where in the middle of a build. Now before anybody says it, I know Dayton, Ohio is not Southern California, thank GOD! At least your original and not driving one of the hundred 32 Fords at a show! It is easy to be a bad *** on the net and talk ****...

Like it, some don't, that's cool.

To the one percenters (or those that "think" that's what they are), here's your sign:D
    [IMG]

Just ignore the wanna-bes terd, your truck looks cool because you did it, and you're doing it with what you have the way you want.

I personally think the new look (old) has way more character than the old (newer) front end.
I don't understand why people find it necessary to talk **** about other peoples rides on this forum.
Is this going to happen at a show or on the street. Are you really going to walk up to someone and tell them you don't like their ride?
No, if you don't like it, just keep it to yourself already.

Yo Terd, Its your truck do it your way. Very few go from the 64 hood to back to the Wonder Warthog look but if that is what you like go for it. I spent almost two years in good old North Carolina and figured out that some folks around there do have a different slant on things.

I think it looks bad ***, how hard was it to mount the new grille, I was actually thinking of doing the same thing. I was going to do a 62 grille but I like what you did better. I don't understand how anyone would want to give another some **** about doing work on their car or truck. We all love cars and trucks and have the same p***ion for what we do so who gives a ****. Just keep going and show more pictures, I'm just starting mine I'll post my progress.

Turd, I have a 63 long bed, I love the look of the stock front-end but man I have to say you have "Balls'. Any one who takes the traditional style and makes it their own I have to tip my hat to you. Did everyone love George Barris?

I was thinkin exactly the same thing and nearly bought some bumpers from a 57 caddy but the corner pieces weren't quite long enough before the kick up. They were to good to cut up so I p***ed....still thinkin about it though, maybe the 56 or earlier would work better......

+1, I'm starting to think this is the place of elitist *******s who have somehow become lucky enough to run across a '32 in the back of their trailer park. Terd, your truck looks great, I dig the big eyebrows on that hood. It is definitely more "traditional" to me than many of the rides owned by some of the angry, bitter folks on this board.

I didn't know they even had grits in Tejas.:D

If you start out with a 1/2 ton grill, you'll have it made. You may have to drill a couple of holes in the grill support panel, but that's it. If you start out with a 1 ton grill, like I did, you'll have to cut off the brackets that mount to the grill support panel and replace them with 1/2 ton brackets. The 1/2 ton brackets will bolt right onto the back of the headlight buckets.

I'm leaning in this direction. Either blue or black satin with white grill, inserts, and bumpers. Or maybe back to the original color, seafoam.

    Thanks Ron.

No womerns can resist my charms hoss.

And for the record, I appreaciate ALL the comments, good and bad. And for the record, I like all kinds of cars, trucks, and cycles and all kinds of styles. Well except for the donks, I still don't quite get that. But that's what makes the world go round. I don't get **** hurt because somebody on the innernetz doesn't like what I do.

I'm no stranger to innerwebz controversy. Fishkeeping is my other main hobby. While I consider my truck mostly "traditional", I have gone against every conventional wisdom when it comes to fishkeeping. I keep big bad*** apex predators together, long thought imposible. When I first started the fish version of a "build thread", you could literally hear people's heads exploding it was so controversial. Three years later, I am a real life legitimate worldwide fishkeeping legend. I am the fishkeeping version of Barris, if you will.

Not that this has anything to do with hot rods, but it's the same no matter what you do. Some will love it and some will hate it. I just do what I love. Whether it's cars, bikes, trucks, guns, fishes, or going to a goat ****. At the end of the day, jibber jabber is just that- jibber jabber.

Grits, i got to hand it to you, your post was short, to the point, and not derogatory. You simply stated your opinion without trying make anyone believe he shouldn't post because you didn't like it.

I come around every so often...don't post much lately. Problem I see is that some of drive-by malcontents here forgot what their momma told them. If you don't have anything nice to say... Now, that doesn't mean you can't offer constructive criticism, but these guys really have personal problems, so you can't take ANYTHING they say to heart...just feel sorry for them, they're not "all there". Me, personally, I like the first hood, but then my dad drove a 65 Carryall that used to be my grandfathers, so it's in my blood. I agree though, it's different because no one uses those hoods anymore.

I'm glad to see you defend yourself and shoot the idiots down... their rantings and loud-mouth antics are what keep most people from posting and contributing. I have a '56 Chevy pickup and as I make progress I'll post photos too...and if they don't like it...eat rocks.

Keep up the progress and keep us posted.

Just lookin at it makes me think about setting proportions right...those cat eyes are just huge above the headlights, why not move the headlights into the cateyes and move your parking light into the headlight bezel area...that might look cool, photoshop, somebody!
