Denise you'll prolly want to hop off of 75 in Cincy and onto 71 north for the shortest route. Not trying to tell you how to get there though. Be great to see you and Big Olds again:D

Yep, I looked at a map after I posted and that is exactly how I'll come up. Then when I leave I'll go northwest up 68 I think it was to Dayton adn back on the highway. Will you be bringing your adorable granddaughter? I've got a CD of photos with her name on it. Gotta rememebr to bring it. Will be nice to see you again too. :D

Also, I've PM'd alot of my Dayton pals with a link to this thread. Just didn't want them to miss it since stuff sinks so quickly around here.

Wow! I betcha can't find too many businesses willing to do that! Very cool on Clinton County Motorsports!

What's he doing, what was done? More than what you're doing, apparently:cool:

    Hi all,

It looks like we are going to have a little fun regardless of how it all turns out. Today I put in a request on the Friday art show sticky to see if we could get a poster or two designed by some of the awesome HAMB artists. I will then take them up to Ms. Clark of the Roberts center to give this a more legit feel. I will also get them to the Clinton County Motorsports folks. As a thank you to them, I will definitely provide them with photos of their shop and all of your rides, and if Jay shows up a photo of him in front of their shop. Thanks for all the support!

Denise I'll have to ask her mom if I can borrow her on Mothers Day. If she will loan her to me I'll happily bring her along but throw that CD in your luggage if you think about it as she has ask me if I had heard from you or Megan.

BTW we need to get Megan in on this:eek:

Here,s another thought from an outsider....How about the airport where he lands and takes off. Maybe that is not feasable with time restraints and all, but just a thought. Good Luck ! CBN

    Hey for what its worth.

DHL was a great service and am sorry to see it go. I had talked a friend of mine into using it for his business. Stuff was always delivered on time and the boxes were perfect. Cant say the same for Brown:(.

Best to you all and hope things pick back up in some way. Enjoy your show.:)

Megan is aware of this thread as I sent her a link as well. Don't know what her plans are for that day BUT she is pretty close to her Mom and Grandmother so she might have family obligations being it's Mom's Day and all.

    How about an update?
Well, I did not have any awesome HAMB artists volunteer to make me a poster for the car show  so I had to make one myself. So my brain woke me up in the middle of the night, as it inconviently does when I want to solve a problem, and here is the end result. I wanted to combine the two comedy shows and the impromptu car show. Hmmm... car show in the middle of two comedy shows. See where this is going? Yes, yes a sandwich! with cars in the middle. Sorry folks this is as good as my humor gets. So I attempted to collect photos of the cars from all the participants to my thread, but guess what, no photo albums. I thought I was the only one who hadn't put anything on my personal page. I was able to get a few cars for the sandwich. See if you can spot them. Attached (hopefully) is a photo of the poster. I will get a copy to Clinton County Motorsports and the Roberts center this week. Thanks!

I'd put a little disclaimer at the bottom of the flyer/poster saying that the show is not put on by Jay Leno, not affliated with him or not sponsored by him but the show is in honor of him. You know somebody is bound to get bent out of shape when they go there expecting to see him and he doesn't show up. (if he doesn't show up. Not to mention some lawyer somewhere will get upset for you using Jay's name and him not being affiliated with the car show.

Otherwise, the poster looks good to me.

    I think it's a pretty humorous poster/flyer. You did a great job.

    Hey Choptop,

I appreciate the proof read of the poster. I will make your recommended changes, as I like to avoid problems too. Denise, thanks for the support! That was my first post with a photo. I am glad it worked! I do want to learn how to put the photo in the post so you don't have to click and open them as you read along.

My stepson just moved to a small town a little West of there to look for a job (you can probably guess how well that's going). I sent him some info on the show. He probably needs it after 3 weeks of pounding the pavement. If I was closer, I'd drop in to.

    Thanks for caring, Jay.

    Gahrajmahal,
You deserve many accolades & much high praise for the job you've done here (& without any thought of a return to yourself) kinda like Leno. You are in very good company.
Sorry to say constraints of the job will keep me away but it certainly seem the H.A.M.B. will be perfectly represented.
Thanks again for being a GREAT AMERICAN.

    Thanks Cadillac Al,
You know I always wanted to go to the funeral service vehicle show they put on here in Cincinnati at Spring Grove Cemetary. Did you ever go with your hearse? Writing this I just had a memory I hadn't thought of in a long long time that may give you a chuckle. Back in the mid 70's I worked for the Jake Sweeney custom van division. Well this guy brings in a 60's cadillac ambulance that he uses to transport his pet monkey in. I guess he did kiddie birthdays and stuff. Well we put in 3 large sunroofs and a roof rack. We gave it some pinstriping and recovered the front seats. I heard tales of him driving around with the monkey riding on the roof when he would take out the glass panels, although he never did bring him by the shop. Boy, I had a lot of fun down there in Hartwell doing all that crazy 70's custom stuff.

  19. Jay Leno is not a celebrity, he's a car guy who happens to be famous and make lots and lots of money.

Unfortunately, the 47 has been in a state of disassembly for about 5 years:eek:. I just can't seem to get the guts, gumption, $$$ & somebody with the brainpower to do what needs to be done to make it the cruiser/parts chaser I want it to be.

    Update,
Tuesday I got my car out of the storage place so I could drive to work, take a few photos and distribute a few posters to the folks at the Roberts center & Clinton County Motorsports (CCM). Warning car is not HAMB friendly for the faint of heart. I will attempt to post a few photos (in the thread) so please laugh and make fun if I screw it up.

A beautiful morning for a ride in a convertible, but it is running crappy.

So I went to work first, did the Fred Flintstone yaba-daba-doo when the final whistle blew. I love sliding down the tail and droping right into the driver seat!
As you see (I hope) by the above photo, I arrived at the Roberts Center to try and find Ms. Clark. Well there is a phone in a deserted lobby I call and explain my goofy plan and a little while later a young woman appears from a closed door. I explain the goofy plan once again, but this time with the posters helping to lend legitimacy to it. A second lady appears (from the phone conversation). They take the posters and some business cards I made up. Name of car show, date, time, my name, cell # & email. I tell them I would really like it if a poster could somehow make it to Jay's dressing room. I hope they take pity on me. Thank them profusely and head on over to CCM

I go inside looking for the manager Jason. Originally he did not remember the conversation as he was busy but we had a great conversation and he reafirmed the plan with the barrels. Remember first one there move the barrels to start the show, last one to leave put em back!. Boy it is a good thing the shop is going to be closed when we are all there. There are so many great bikes in there we all will have some new financing and a shiny new toy. Oh, to be 19 again.

OK, I think it is all in place. I have receiived a few PM's confirming other HAMB'ers intention to come, but I think Jay would find it really funny to find me alone in the parking lot if you all stand me up!

I am going to hit the submit button now so if the photos aren't in the post I will do it over again but you will have to click on them.

Well, that didn't work. I used photobucket ,resized them down and followed the picture posting thread from the HAMB. So here are the photos the inconvenient way.

I plan on leaving West Union around 1:00-1:30 and that should put me there between 2:30-3:00. It'll be interesting if I get there and the lot is full of show parkers and not HAMBers.

Mike PM me please if you have a cell phone # that I can reach you on when I get there.

At least the weather forecast suggests it's gonna be a great day!

I plan on leaving Hartsville, TN around 11am, 12 noon Ohio time and it's 315 miles to Wilmington, OH so I should be there at 5pm. Looking forward to some topless cruzn weather this weekend.

I bet if Jay learns of it, he'll at least chuckle. I hope he shows up and even if he doesn't I hope you guys have a great time. I'm in Hungary for work or I'd see about showing up and I'm almost as famous as Jay. Just I don't have the money or the cars or the chin.
