Hey guys, I just scored a really cool 33 Buick (pics to follow) 4 door and need to get it home! It's in Livermore, CA and I need to move it to Sonora. Does anyone have a trailer in the bay area I can beg, borrow, rent or buy to get it moved? I can move it tomorrow, wed the 18th, and have it back on thurs or next week, whichever works. Thanks! Dave
33 buicks kick ass! Lotsa wood but the styling is wunnerful, IMHO. BTW, here's a photo of my immaculate 65 chevy pickup. It's for sale too!
Yep, it was the one on Craigslist. $800 and the body is complete minus the hood and grill shell. Not too bad condition with minimal sheetmetal damage and no rot. The wood is all bad so it's still a huge project, but it will be a lot of fun and a good learning experience for me. You'll have to remind me I said this later when I'm fed up with it. Cool '65, Rocky! I really like those old boats. I used to have a '60 on a 4x4 chassis. It was a guzzler and noisy as hell but it was a kick and the women liked it. Scott's is going to be sweet when it's done.
Hey Yosemite, is that a 60 series Buick? If so, are you going to use the stock rear? I know someone looking for an axle shaft for a stocker. The only interchange is 1933-34 Buick 60 series. If you're not going to use it, keep me in mind.
Hey Sancho, I don't think it has the stock rear in it. But I'm not planning to use it and I'll get with you if it does happen to be the stock axle. The car is a series 57, so it may not be the same anyways?
Hey Hermit, good score! Any '33 Buick is a find although I'm certain you are going to go through more than a little agony when looking for parts for yours. I had a '33 90 Series Victoria (one BIG mother with a wheelbase of 138") and was really surprised to learn that '33 was a real orphan year for Buick and GM in general. Essentially, no other year Buick can be used for body parts! It's either fix what you got or be prepared tp get ripped when you look for replacements. I know and my butt's still bleeding! But, when you are done with your project, you will have a very unique car. Incicentally, there is a guy in Virginia that specializes in 1932-1936 Buicks and Buicks only. His last name is Peters. He used to advertise quite a bit in Hemmings. He knows everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, about these cars. He built some of the most beautiful big Buicks I have ever seen. Hope this helps you. Keep us posted.
Hey 'Krusty, Thanks for the info! I really love the old Buicks and they were my first choice when looking for a new project. I'm hoping I won't need to find too much Buick stuff for this. The body panels all seem to be in reasonable condition and I'm just going to use homebuilt ingenuity to get the rest of the pieces together. Not a resto by any stretch of the imagination. It actually came with an original spare tire cover, believe it or not. I can't wait to get it together. Does anyone happen to know if these have any numbers stamped on the body or frame?
