  6. Backyard??? Iv'e gotten in the habit of painting quite a few cars with housepaint. Brush, roller, what ever....A $15 dollar gallon of paint will work wonders for an old faded multi color cars ego...just watch out for rain in the forecast when using laytex!!!!

    Easy peasy.

    Here are the materials.

Basically I sprayed the base color = Orange.

Then I poured flake in the can of clear. I them mixed it with an electric drill and a bit. When the flake was mixed in the clear, I dipped the brush in the can and then brushed it on the bike.

NOTE: I put a lot of flake in the can so that the clear/flake mixture was thick so I didn't have to do a lot of coats of clear. I also mixed the flake each time I dipped the brush in.

It's been flaked for about 1 year now and the flake looks rocking in the sun and the clear is hold up very well. (although the bike is in the garage most of the time)

Here we are at a show.

I have done almost all my cars either outside or in a garage once I discovered the pros don't pay attention to the details on your car like you would. Here are a couple I did before my eyesight started getting bad.The Vette looks bad because my daughters dog jumped up on it and scratched it up.Got to do it again now.

These paint jobs are actually done indoors (not in the back yard), but in my own garage with water on the floor to reduce dust...

Summer training session for "how to paint a(Off Topic truck) for my 16 year old grandson. Not in backyard but in front driveway. All of the sanding and priming, one panel at a time, two sessions for each panel. Top/Hood/Door/Door/Tailgate/ you got the idea. Many days in May and June. He learned the drill of sand/mask/prime/unmask/etc./etc./etc.

Then, For the color we cheated and rented a booth.

LESSON OBJECTIVE; Grandson Alex will be able to paint his next truck by himself......................... MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

I'll let him do my Nash HotRod when the time comes if he wants to tackle it:D
