So, I´ve got this 1926 Citroen Pick Up I´m working on. It came stock with a parallel leaf spring setup and I am using a 1930 Chevrolet front end there.

Now my question is in which angle do I have to mount the shakles, unloaded, to gain the best driving comfort? Straight up and down, unloaded, sounds best to me, am I right?
Another thing I noticed is that the ´30 Chevy leaf springs aren´t of the same lenght me***ured from the middle of the spring to the spring eyes. Which part does have to point forwards, the longer I suppose?

    Thanks,
    Florian

I would guess that the shankles angled at the top slightly towards the axle, would be better than straight up & down.

Another guess...that the longer part of the spring would go towards the shackle while the shorter end would go towards the solid mount ???

Okay, slightly raked towards the ale sounds better, but why do you think the shorter part of the spring should point forwards?

and ..... looking at my 32 chevy ch***is , the shackles are nearly straight up and down , the bottom of the shackle is slightly angled away from the axle.
